The Paparoa National Park stretches from the peaks of the Paparoa mountain range to the west coast of the South Island, encompassing spectacular sights and landscapes along the way. The most notable of these are the limestone cliffs, canyons, blow-holes and world-famous 30-million-year-old “pancake-stack” formations. The small settlement of Punakaiki lies within the park and offers visitors the chance to visit heritage sites, take in arts and crafts, and spend some time in the local cafes and restaurants.

The Pancake Rocks are a heavily eroded limestone area where the sea bursts through several vertical blowholes during high tides. Together with the 'pancake'-layering of the limestone (created by immense pressure on alternating hard and soft layers of marine creatures and plant sediments), these form the main attraction of the area.

The southwestern corner of New Zealand’s South Island presents a picture of incredible contrasts – the snow-capped Southern Alps towering over massive, deep lakes, and ocean flooded valleys. It’s also breathtaking. Of the 14 fiords that dramatically carve into 215km of coastline, Milford Sound is the most accessible and popular, with the more remote Doubtful Sound offering a wealth of marine life. Take a boat charter or cruise, helicopter flip, or one of the many walking trails in the area. Lake Te Anau offers the perfect base for your exploration of this acclaimed World Heritage Site, and if it’s a family holiday, the kids will love the Discovery Centre underwater observatory and glowworm caves.
Enjoy a leisurely, small group day trip to Milford Sound from October to April, including a boat cruise along the full length of the fiord to the Tasman Sea. Then choose from either a series of short walks and exploration with a local nature guide, or 2 and a half hours unguided hiking on the renowned Routeburn Great Walk to Key Summit. A local family business Trips & Tramps runs this wonderful trip.

I posted feedback and reviews (on Google), but I wanted to send you a personal note to thank you for planning a fantastic trip for our 10 year anniversary! Josh and I had such a fabulous time. All the accommodations and tours were wonderful. Everyone was professional, kind, welcoming, and full of great information. The tips you provided in the itinerary were so helpful for us to plan for the tours and the plan with the driving was a great set up to not over tire us. Every day was fun and full of adventure. We will definitely be recommending you to anyone planning to travel to New Zealand!!
Hi Michael – Thanks for asking for additional feedback on our trip. In short, we had a great time. New Zealand was even more spectacular than we imagined and the itinerary you put together really gave us an opportunity to see so much and encourage us to come back for a longer stay. All told though we thought the trip was incredibly well organized and easy to execute. We never had an issue with anything on the itinerary and loved getting your suggestions for where to stop along our drives. The app made it super easy to stay on track and took much of the guesswork out of the trip. We can’t thank you enough for helping to make this such a memorable trip. We’re looking forward to a return visit soon.
GUEST New Zealand did a fantastic job planning our second honeymoon trip. Their recommendations were spot on. All our accommodations were great, in good locations, with wonderful hosts. Our tours were all very worthwhile and full of interesting information about the local area. The driving was split up so that it wasn't too much on any one day. We loved getting to see a lot of the country. All in all, we had an absolutely wonderful time in a supremely beautiful country. We would definitely do it all again!!
I cannot thank Michael enough for helping us plan a memorable honeymoon in New Zealand, our trip was flawless and Michael's support throughout was incredible. A true professional, German efficiency delivered in a Kiwi friendly manner! Specifics would be Michael’s organisation skills and dedication to helping us plan our holiday. Michael took numerous skype calls to explain and clarify things and was an incredible guiding hand in helping us decide where we stayed and what we did. During our time in New Zealand, Michael was always on hand to support and deal with any issues to help our holiday run smoothly. Taking a phone call late in the evening to rearrange a trip early the following morning is one case that springs to mind. There are few people I know who would have the dedication to ring you at 7am the following morning to make sure everything is okay! I cannot recommend Michael enough. Anyone who is planning a trip to New Zealand would do well to just sit back and let Michael take care of things. You are in safe, professional hands.
My husband and I used Guest New Zealand for our first Kiwi experience. Michael made our trip SO much better than it otherwise would have been had we tried to book everything ourselves. We had one issue with times of a ferry ticket and all we had to do was let Michael know and it was instantly fixed. They helped select the most quaint, homey, and perfect accommodations for us that really enhanced our experience by getting to interact with our hosts and learn more about Kiwi Culture. When we eventually go back to New Zealand, we will definitely be using their service again.
100% RECOMMEND GUEST NEW ZEALAND! LOVE THEM!!!
