If you’re shortly going to be travelling New Zealand’s culinary culture, you’ll quickly discover that we Kiwis love full-bodied flavours.  Ok, may be the food has to take second place to New Zealand’s beautiful scenery but no one forgets that special piece of Carrot Cake full of walnuts, treacle, apples and apricots. And let’s not forget the real cream cheese icing! Cafes here are famous for it.

The one thing I missed while travelling overseas, was quality, creamy yogurt. Australian and New Zealand gourmet yogurts are in all supermarkets and they’re thick and delicious. Call me biased, but I think that our cream is the best in the world. And folks, you really have to sample this peanut butter while you’re here. It really is a star!

New Zealand’s coffee culture reigns supreme. We’re pretty fussy about our lattes, flat whites and short blacks. Even in rural areas, you’re get a great coffee, but do ask the locals about this and they’ll point you in the right direction.

Love our dairy products. Don’t mean to sound bias but we really do make the best dairy products and as for Pics Peanut Butter! Well enough said lol

Jan I could go on all day about our dairy products and let’s be biased about it! I’m always slightly disappointed when I’m offered either ice-cream or cream with my dessert. In the spirit of fairness and generosity, why not both?. Just saying.

Yay for Pic’s Peanut Butter – it is the absolute pinnacle of peanutty-ness. Paiko and Dairy Collective creamy yoghurt also get my vote – you can’t even tell it’s healthy! Much better than the thin, sharp Euro-yoghurts.

Yay, another fan of Paiko Yogurts – pure yogurtnish! I love the fact that when you ask for cream with your dessert, you actually get cream – that creamy yellowish substance that spends a lifetime on the hips.

Pics peanut butter is very good – better than the imports no question.

Recently however we have tried making own own by going to Bin Inn – they just crush the peanuts to either smooth or crunchy and you get a container full- awesome taste and much better value for money!

We just love hearing the success stories of businesses like Pic’s and their ethical way of producing a quality product. Good on you for making your own peanut butter Greg, but think I’d feel more confident with making my own carrot cake. Still you never know, one day…
